Music and food!

The 2 just seemed to go together. At least that is what Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton, two enterprising and music-loving Americans, thought when they opened the first Hard Rock Cafe in London, England back in 1971.

Who would have guessed then that  4 decades later the Hard Rock Cafe (HRC)
would be a global eatery, hotelier and attraction.

What About All This Other Stuff?
Oh yes! Seems like along the way, the HRC has amassed an unparalleled memorabilia collection, which according to its corporate website, "consists of more than 70,000 pieces that are rotated from restaurant to restaurant, provide(ing) the world's most comprehensive ‘visual history’ of rock 'n' roll."

"These treasures include an awe-inspiring collection of classic guitars and other instruments, posters, costumes, music and lyric sheets, album art, platinum and gold LPs, photos and much more, from Jimi Hendrix's Flying V guitar to John Lennon's handwritten lyrics to "Help" (his favorite Beatles' tune) to one of Madonna's now-classic bustiers. And, like the true "living museum" that it is, Hard Rock's memorabilia collection remains very much a work in progress, constantly expanding and deepening as new music - and new music history - is made every day.”

“Love All-Serve All”
Since its inception, the HRC has adopted a mantra of ‘Love All-Serve’. So, it isn’t too far of a stretch to seek to incorporate the power of technology advancements with that objective in a way to share its unique collection of photographs, documents, and memorabilia.

To accomplish this, HRC set out to preserve these treasures through scanning and digitization. They then created an elaborate technological playground that visitors can wander through and interact each item in a very personal way. On the corporate website, HRC has created a Memorabilia portal unlocking passage into its treasure trove by artist, type, decade, genre, or location.

If you visit certain HRC locations, you will find a "Rock Wall"  providing guests the opportunity to view any portion of the photographic or video Hard Rock memorabilia collection on a mammoth touch screen wall. This digital technology offers both proactive and interactive experience helping to ensure the collection is shared with as many as possible and every item gets its chance to continue living on telling its part in the overall story of Rock ‘n Roll.
